Durable exterior resists moisture and fading

A gorgeously lacquered elephant bag, designed beautifully in contrasting shades of Red lacquer and 24K Gold leaf on red lacquer as an antique look. A fiber glass handle lacquered in black is held onto the bag and accents of the bag has been done in gold plated sterling silver. The bag has been lined in textile.

The inspiration is primarily from the significance of Elephants in Thai Culture. Elephants are a traditional symbol of power and peace in Thailand, as well as a spiritual mentor for people of all walks of life. The elephant also symbolizes wisdom and loyalty and various other characteristics such as sensitivity, stability, intelligence and determination. Lotus Arts de Vivre embodies this belief in all our elephant designed products.

It is said that an Elephant with it's truck raised up is a sign of authority, goodwill and good fortune. The details that give this handbag it's defining character are the piercing Turquoise stone eyes and Gold body lines. The Black Lacquer handle, inspired by nature's 'Crazy Wood', joins the body with Gold plated Sterling Silver petal design. The opening clasp is a golden Rudraksha bead , spiritually affiliated to our mind and body's health, happiness and prosperity.

From conceptual design to the finished piece, it has taken over 3 months to create with over 12 designers and craftsmen involved at various stages.
